Five reasons why you shouldn’t visit Pokhara

.    1.     Persistent downpour: Pokhara (Kaski) is the cherrapunji of Nepal. Basically, Lumle, 22 km away from Pokhara is the main place that receives highest rainfall but the impacts are more or less similar in the whole district. Due to rain, people’s lives are highly affected and the weather becomes chilled. But, hey have you ever tried dancing in the rain or at least get your feet wet? Since, Pokhara’s soil has high absorption capacity and due to unparalleled landmasses, city turns fresh in a few hours and water do not remain clogged. Apart, the streets aren’t muddy like at other places. One can enjoy a cup or more coffee and some warm snacks. When the rain stops, the magnificent view of colourful rainbow in the clear blue sky and possibly snowy mountains can be seen.

     2.      Transportation difficulties: The modern lives have made people fall prey of obesity and waste less energy. The use of personal vehicles to every nook and corner is rampant. It can’t be denied that public transportation here is little less facilitated, but Pokhara allows people to explore and enjoy every momentum. People can either walk down freely on the serene streets or cycle around to major destinations which can be reached easily in no time. There’s different feeling in this experience that leave people wondering how enticing life here can be.

     3.     Exorbitant place: The major income sources of people of Pokhara are either foreign employment or tourism. So, obviously the investments and cost of living is pretty high at this place, which in itself is rich naturally and culturally. Not only Pokhara is blessed with splendid natural resources, equally it is inhabited by people of different caste, creed and culture. The hospitable behavior of Pokharelis who treat guests as gods with great value and respect leave everyone spellbound. Besides, Pokhara doesn’t have easy access to huge markets too, thus goods are relatively expensive. If such family environment doesn’t deserve a little more penny, what else does?

      4.     City without skyscrapers: The definition of city has changed over the years. Modern cities are believed to have tall buildings, major shopping outlets, multiplex theatres etc. To that comparison, Pokhara is still a semi urban area. In fact, it is village to many unsociable people. Wherever you go, you bump into familiar faces and thus there is no privacy. On the other hand, this isn’t major business and corporate hubs like Kathmandu, Butwal. If anyone has desires of visiting fancy malls for shopping or just roaming around for photos to get their social media updated which reflects no less than foreign trips, Pokhara shouldn’t be the option. Houses here are mainly 2 or 3 storeys that provide visibility of mountain ranges. Bypassers can instead buy local products basically handicrafts, pashminas, blankets etc.

      5.     Lakeside:, the only emblem: Lakeside is undeniably the main brand ambassador of Pokhara
to   National and international tourists stay around Lakeside and visit Phewa lake to see the immersed image of Mt. Machhapuachhre and Annapurnas. In the meantime they reach Tal Barahi located in the middle of the lake and stroll around the streets during leisure. But not all are concerned that there are many other attractions in Pokhara besides lake. There are Majhikuna, Rupa and Begnas Lake, Gurkha Gulf course, caves, stupas and monasteries etc. Also, Pokhara is gateway to heavenly places. People can either hike to Dhampus , Kalabang Gharedi or trek to ABC, Mardi, Ghorepani, Ghandruk or even travel to Manang and Mustang behind the mountains.
